We here at Big Valley Pheasant Ranch feature the German Wirehair Pointer (aka Deutsch Drahthaar). The German Wirehair Pointer is a natural retriever. They are intelligent and this pointer is a good gun dog and loves to hunt any game. The breed can track, point and retrieve. They love to hunt waterfowl in the morning and pheasant in the afternoon.

You should wear "camo", but he doesn't need it!

The German Wirehair Pointer does best with an active family. The dog is extremely energenic and needs daily exercise. He would make a wonderful jogging companion and enjoys swimming. But remember a bored Wirehair can be destructive. He must interact with humans daily. He was born with the natural ability to hunt. This is it's first love. Most are pointing between 6 - 8 weeks old. Wirehairs can stand extreme cold and do not shed. So come by and say hello to Jake, Atti, Louie and Brandy.
